Here’s the photo of the week:
Lions Tamed By Young Boys (An Uphill Battle Ahead)
By: Paul |So the first leg of 3rd round of Europa League qualifying is in the books…and Athletic have fallen 1-0 to BSC Young Boys. This is a surprise- Athletic were considered favorites, plus they tend to do well at home. Here are my impressions from the game:
Live Blog: UEFA Europa League Athletic-Young Boys
By: Paul |90+3:55: The Final whistle is blown. Athletic will go into the second leg at Wankdorf (take a moment to laugh at the name of BSC’s ground) down 0-1. I’ll be back with a wrap sometime later. Until then, leave your impressions in the comment box. Oh and I think they just interviewed Xabi Castillo [...]

By: Paul |Today, Athletic played their friendly against Spanish giants San Roque and won….because of an 88th minute penalty that was taken by Etxeberria. Llorente was brought in at half-time, but as the scoreline reflects didn’t really make his presence felt. In fact, San Roque were able to put pressure on Athletic numerous times. I always say [...]
Shedding Dead Weight
By: Paul |Today, Athletic and Iñigo Velez agreed to rescind the player’s contract, and Velez has moved on to Numancia. I saw this coming with the De Cerio signing, and, honestly, I don’t even know why we had signed him in the first place.
Down on Penalties
By: Paul |Another pre-season game was played yesterday vs. Anderlecht, and Athletic go down on penalties. Ok, so they lost. I’m not too worried (yet). This is just the pre-season, and as long as the players are getting in shape and getting some practice in before the new season, that’s all that really matters to me.
Good news, [...]
