Benfica 2-Athletic 1: Saviola Wins It for the Eagles

Today was Athletic’s first preseason game of 2009, and it ended as a 2-1 loss for Los Leones. Really, the team did not look too sharp from the beginning, but, then again, I can’t say Benfica looked too great either.

According to the latest reports (here and here) Athletic have signed Real Sociedad’s 23-year-old left defender Xabi Castillo for €1 with another €600,000 in based on the player’s performances.
