Athletic Merchandise

By: Paul | September 16th, 2009

In a previous post, reader “Ritxard in Hawai’i” posted a comment stating: “The tapa bars of Seattle are the place to look for ACB gear! Try the Bilbao Club or Tango Bar across the expressway. But, I have been trying to find a Leones jersey for months. Is there any website (other than bidding on e-bay, or the AC Club site (which I’ve never been able to access the shop section due to technical and linguistic problems) which sells them?”

First, I am very interested that there are places in Seattle which sell Athletic gear- if I am out that way I will definitely be checking it out. If you’re an Athletic supporter living in that area, this seems like a solid recommendation.

For the second part, I do know one place (outside of eBay, where I bought my shirt from) where Athletic merch can be found- the Soccer-Spain Shop. The prices are in Euros, so the exchange rate can be a bit of a mess, but it is a legitimate site and the only one I can find that has Athletic gear available and, moreover, gear that can be shipped to the United States (they ship worldwide, actually). In addition to gear for Athletic, they also sell merchandise from all other La Liga and second division clubs, the Spain national team, the Galician national team, the Catalan national team, and (my personal favorite) the Euskadi XI.

The site sells jerseys, scarves, shirts, and other knick-knacks. They frequently have sales where things are marked down, so if you can’t afford something right now but want something there, keep checking. I remember last year they had a mid-season sale going on and they will randomly mark down things. I will say that I have read up on this site a bit and, while I haven’t yet gotten the funds to order from it, it comes highly recommended.

One other place to look is mmsports, but I am not sure of the legitimacy of the site.

Anyway, I just wanted to answer the question in a post and share the info Ritxard posted about the places in Seattle. If anyone knows of any other means to find Athletic Club merch in the United States, please share!

I recently bought my Athletic second shirt (17 Etxebe!) from Soccer-Spain Shop and it is an awesome shirt. Best money I ever spent. Also, they shipped it to me in a single day (from Barcelona to New York). Incredible. Highly recommended.

I am also in Seattle. I haven’t been able to find ACB stuff anywhere. I can find lots of Seattle Sounders jerseys as expected. I wonder if there is a group interested in watching the Sunday games together? Could be fun!

That Soccer-Spain shop sounds interesting. I’ve always bought from the Athletic website but if I’ll probably turn to Soccer-Spain for the Euskadi XI shirt.

mmsports is legit, I bought a Tottenham jersey from there last year. They’re still selling last year’s Athletic jerseys, without the sponsor.

    Paul et altri,

Sorry that I may have confused with last post. I meant that on my trip to Seattle in August — to see Barcelona v FC Seattle Sounders — the tapa bars were the closest thing to a visit to San Sebastian. For Basque emigre’s, you can get the best pintxos and sidra natural in the US at the plethora of tapa bars in the River City. I was the one wearing the AC Bilbao gear however. Thought I might see another shirt at the game @ Qwest, but none there. I too found ACB gearon e-bay, and will look at the Spanish site you recommended for these and Euskadi XI! And fortunately, they didn’t play the Castillian national anthem at Qwest. I was waiting to see if the Catalunians would turn their backs as happened at the Copa Final en Valencia. ;)
